Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) information, including environmental metrics that may assist with understanding and mitigating the Company’s impacts on climate change, are a focus of D.R. Horton’s management team and Board of Directors. As the largest homebuilder in the United States, we recognize that our business activities, including the acquisition and development of land and the construction and sale of residential homes, may have an impact on the environment. We consider our potential impact on the environment in each phase of constructing our homes, from the performance of environmental studies during site selection through the finish out of our homes by including or offering energy efficient or energy-saving options.
Throughout the last few years, we closely evaluated our company’s governance and impact on the environment and society, including important Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues such as workforce health and safety, human capital management, diversity and inclusion, energy efficiency, climate change and other environmental matters, business ethics and compliance and data privacy and protection. During this time, we published our Human Rights Policy, Political Contributions Policy Statement, Human Capital Data and EEO-1 disclosure, a Vendor Spotlight document and our Inaugural ESG Report to the Policy & ESG Documents section of the site. We continue to improve and expand upon our internal processes for tracking key metrics related to the energy efficiency and environmental impacts of our homes, and we are pleased to publish updated ESG reporting and disclosures on an annual basis.
