(NYSE: DHI), America's Builder, the largest homebuilder in the United States,
Tuesday (April 11, 2006), reported the highest quarterly net sales orders in
Company history. Net sales orders for the second quarter ended March 31, 2006
increased 10% to 15,771 homes ($4.4 billion), compared to 14,401 homes ($4.1
billion) for the same quarter of fiscal year 2005. Net sales orders for the
first six months of fiscal year 2006 increased 12% to 27,234 homes ($7.5
billion), compared to 24,302 homes ($6.8 billion) for the same period of
fiscal year 2005.
Donald R. Horton, Chairman of the Board, said, "We are very pleased with
our 10% increase in net sales orders for the quarter. We had positive sales
growth in every region of the Company, except the Midwest where we have only
two markets. The Company's double-digit sales momentum and our record sales
backlog continue to position the Company for another record year in fiscal
year 2006."
